Putting Team Members First for Positive Guest Experiences

In the midst of a labor shortage, our restaurant consultants have been emphasizing what has always mattered at National Restaurant Consultants: creating good company culture by treating team members with the respect they are due. A restaurant is only as good as the people it employs, and a happy team is sure to create a vibrant restaurant atmosphere and a fantastic guest experience.

In the same vein, this week, in honor of National Day of Giving, the national chain Noodles & Company took the day to acknowledge their employees first. Their National Day of Giving program will donate $1 from every Noodle Rewards member purchase into their Noodles Foundation, which directly benefits Noodles & Company team members in times of crisis, and also creates a scholarship fund for team members looking to further their education.

According to this article from Nation’s Restaurant News, Sue Petersen, executive vice president of inclusion, diversity, and people at Noodles & Company, said, “We are directly uplifting our team members with this give-back initiative. One of our core values is We Care, and we are committed to supporting our team members through times of need, and with National Day of Giving, we will be able to further positively impact our team members.”

So often, even with the best of intentions, our efforts fall only to the guest experience. In the restaurant and hospitality industries, the guest experience is crucial, but the community experience includes all people involved, and most especially, team members.

Richard Weil, proprietor and owner of National Restaurant Consultants says, “Owners, leadership,  managers, and supervisors are the foundation for a positive culture that sets the tone for the guest experience through each and every staff member—from the back of the house to each front-facing person and all points in between.”

Our restaurant consultants are experts in restaurant team building, from the hiring and training processes to creating solid company culture. Reach out to a restaurant consultant today and work with us to nurture the best team experience in your restaurant.
