With all of the uncertainty hanging over the restaurant industry from the last year, we want to make sure that we are sharing positive stories of success. For example, this week, we heard from Rod Washausen, the proprietor of Washy’s Saloon in Waterloo, Illinois and the neighboring Washy’s Pub in Columbia. National Restaurant Consultants’ Vice President Jared Flowers has had the privilege of working with the Washy’s family over the last few years.

Just got our second round of PPP money—doesnt seem real,” Washausen told us. “Sales are up almost 30% over last January and weve gotten food cost consistently under 30% and prime cost under 60% almost every single week in the last two months.” Even during this downturn, Washy’s was able to demonstrate savings and profit with the help of our consultants’ analysis and advice.

Washausen also credited the success to some menu changes, orchestrated by National Restaurant Consultants. “The burgers and pot pies and everything else you gave us has been huge hits,” he said. “I want to thank Jared for everything. He and NRC are one of the main reasons we are still here.”
